Known issues in Operations Manager 2007 R2 Management Pack Version 6.1.7599.0

After deploying the new MP at several customers sites i found two issues/problems.

The first one was with a missing view. the MP guide pointed that the MP team "Renamed the "Health Service Configuration" view folder to "Run As Configuration" to more accurately reflect the folder’s new (revised) purpose." after the upgrade i checked the view and it was OK.
But just after console refresh the view disappeared. for more details see: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagermgmtpacks/thread/38fd43e0-3577-487a-96ec-46333e3eba2c

The second problem is related to two new reports “Data Volume by Management Pack” and “Data Volume by Workflow and Instance” it seems that the report don’t show all the MP’s in the Management pack section.

The two issues are bugs in the new MP, but there is a workaround for the report problem.
the problem related to system locale , the report work on systems with English locale only.
to fix it do the following:

  • Close all windows of the Operations Console
  • Open the "Region and Language" control panel applet
  • On the "Formats" tab change your "Format" to "English (United States)"
  • Open the Operations Console and then the reports and the MP list should work as expected

NOTE: The locale settings can be changed back to the original locale after that.

Thanks to Kevin Holman for his help regarding this issues.
